In the past ten years, Vieira has led the creation and execution of communication strategies for companies such as Nike, Facebook, GE, Diageo, Whirlpool, Google, Monsanto, PepsiCo and Brazilian LOCOG (Rio2016), among others. He started his career as an entrepreneur by founding Agência Ideal in 2008. In 2015, Ideal was acquired by WPP and merged with Hill & Knowlton Strategies, creating Ideal H+K Strategies. Before that, Eduardo was editor of EPOCA magazine, one of the most important weekly magazines in Brazil, managing the Business, Technology and Innovation sections. Prior to ÉPOCA, he was the technology editor at EXAME magazine, managing editor at INFO magazine and business reporter at Gazeta Mercantil. He has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism by University of Sao Paulo (ECA-USP), an MBA in Management at FIA-USP and a post-graduation diploma in New Media at Seoul National University (SNU, South Korea).
Vieira has been shortlisted as PRWeek’s best PR professional in Latin America in 2019, and has previously been elected as Gold Stevie Award for Executive of the Year in Latin America in 2017, Communications Executive of the Year in 2015 by Aberje (Brazilian Corporate Communications Association); one of the top 3 corporate communications professionals in Brazil in 2014 by Grupo Consultores (a Spanish Advertising Consultants); and Top Brazilian Entrepreneur in 2013, according to PEGN magazine (a local version of Inc. Magazine). He has been awarded several Journalism accolades during his career, such as Citibank Journalistic Excellence Award, CNH Capital/Fiat Allis of Business Journalism, Embratel Press Award, to name a few. He is also the author of the book Secret Stories of Brazilian Internet, a business Brazilian best seller recognized with a Jabuti Award of Brazilian Literature. Renato Delmanto is Vice-President for Institucional Issues and Crisis Management at Ideal Hill + Knowlton Strategies. He joined Ideal H+K team in October 2019.
Previously, Renato has worked for 11 years as Communications Head in Votorantim Group (one of the largest Brazilian industrial conglomerates) and CPFL Energia (energy sector player), being responsible for internal and external communications as well as corporate affairs.
He has also worked as senior manager at Maquina Cohn&Wolfe, leading PR teams in Alpargatas (shoes and textiles company, owner of “Havaianas” brand) and Camargo Corrêa (infrastructure conglomerate, actually called Mover).
In his 15 years of Corporate Communications career, Renato has acquired an extensive experience in the management of various types of crises – such as financial (eg., 2008 derivatives crisis), competition authority investigations (cement cartel), civil construction (São Paulo Subway disaster in 2007) and environmental issues (eg., mining and dam licensing).
Renato started his career as a reporter in Veja (the largest Brazilian weekly magazine), and after that in Folha de S. Paulo (the country’s most prestigious newspaper). Later, he worked as senior editor and director in O Estado de S.Paulo newspaper, Globo Publishing and America Online Brazil.
He has also had an academic experience as Professor at Casper Libero Foundation, the first and most prestigious Journalism College in Brazil, from 2005 to 2016.
Renato holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC SP) and a master’s degree in Communications from Casper Libero Foundation.
